Read 66

The Special Needs Library would like readers of Talking Books to get involved in the Jacksonville Public Library’s Read 66 program.

This is a program for all ages designed to help people build a healthy habit of reading. “66” represents the theory that it takes 66 days to form a habit. We’re asking that people pledge to read 15 minutes a day for 66 days in a row.

The program starts in January and concludes at the Jax Book Fest on March 25 at the Main Library. Readers can earn prizes as they log the titles and authors of the books they have read. Along the way readers can also attend parties and other events that celebrate reading. All of the Jacksonville Public Library branches will be participating and you can contact the branch closest to you for more information.

Readers can track their reading via a printed road map reading tracker or online by registering and creating an account at jaxpubliclibrary.readsquared.com Readers can register themselves, parents can register their children and teachers can register their class. The registration asks for the reader’s age and then requires a name, email address, zip code and the creation of a username and password. Should you need help registering for this program please contact the Special Needs Library at 630-1999 and a staff member will assist you.
