To prepare for National Disability Voter Registration Week (July 17 - 21), the Jacksonville Public Library and Duval County Supervisor of Elections are partnering with the American Association for People with Disabilities to make voter registration services for people with disabilities easier and more pervasive.
Learn about equipment for voters with disabilities through interactive tutorials. You can also register to vote on-site and take home information about regional resources you can use.
The Jacksonville Public Library is committed to making its programs accessible to all persons. If you need special accommodations, please call 630-BOOK (2665) at least 72 hours prior to the event.

Summer Learning Registration Open to Talking Book readers
The Jacksonville Public Library's Summer Learning Build a Better World registration is now open to Talking Book readers. To register for this program click on this link: jaxpubliclibrary.readsquared.com From there select the link to register.
(Two buttons on the screen. The left reading "Register" the right reading "Login")
From this point you need to register yourself, your kids or a class if you are a teacher.
(Register and Create Account. Let's Get Started! Who are you going to register? Three buttons on the screen. The left reading "I'm registering myself only", the middle reading "I'm a parent registering my kids" and the right reading "I'm a teacher registering my class".)
If registering yourself the first question will ask how old you are. The next page is a series of input fields requiring: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email Address and Zip code. Next is the Primary Library selection. This drop-down menu has an option for Talking Books. The next selection is for School Name with options for: Home-school, Private School, Not in School or any of the Duval County Public Schools. The next input fields are for: Username, Password and Re-Enter Password. The last selection is for Avatar.
From this point you can start logging your reading activity, logging secret codes from attending library events, checking your progress and viewing the leader board.
